Brown Girl Farms is located in the Hayward hills of California and managed by founder, Ashlee Johnson-Geisse and her wife Jen Johnson-Geisse. Brown Girl Farms serves to spread loving intention to community through market vegetables, African American heritage crops, and unique seasonal flower bouquets.

Birthed from a belief that queer, black, woman farmers need more representation and celebration in the growing world, Ashlee Johnson-Geisse created Brown Girl Farms. Ashlee created this intentional space was during the beginning of Covid in response to an urgent need for plant starts and fresh produce within the Bay Area community.

Specializing in African-American heritage crops (Collard Greens, Yams, etc.) as well as other seasonal vegetables and fruit. CSA produce program launching in March 2021!
Bouquets
We offer bouquets and seasonal greenery door decorations featuring seasonal blooms March-December at Brown Girl Farms. You can find our seasonal offerings at Mandela Grocery located in the heart of West Oakland, CA.
